The Cumulus quilt is our line of standard quilts that are built from .9oz sq/yd ripstop nylon and filled with 850fp down. Like their namesake, they are robust, menacing, and definitely not something to be taken lightly. Although slightly heavier than the Cirrus, the Cumulus is extremely light, packable, and very warm.
Both Cirrus and Cumulus Under Quilts are constructed using a dual-differential cut which allows the ends and sides to have the same loft as the rest of the quilt. Both have baffles that run the length of the quilt with drawstrings and draft tubes at each end. The main difference with our under quilts is the shaping. We utilize a sewing technique of darts (like an inverted pleat) on both ends that shapes it like the hammock. A good example is if you hold your hands together in a cupping shape. If the quilt were laid on the ground and could hold its shape, it would resemble the cupped hands. This shaped quilt ensures that when properly hung, it maintains contact with the hammock, eliminating cold spots. The Primary suspension is a hybrid shockcord/ tactical cord which saves weight over a full shock-cord suspension. Both quilts can be ordered in Short (73″), Standard (78″), and Long (83″) and a standard width of 46″.
Teton Hammock Company quilts are made using the highest quality down available. Our down is Durawashed, hypoallergenic, certified by the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), and BlueSign approved. Learn more information on RDS and BlueSign.
All of our quilts are stuffed to 130% fill capacity based on industry standard fill power/ loft temperature ratings. This can add up to 1.5-2oz of extra down depending on the target loft of the quilt. While this doesn’t change the temperature rating, it does help keep the down from shifting in the quilt?s channels.
